How To Choose The Right Wiffle Bat Set
If you’re buying a Wiffle Ball set, there are several things to consider, from the number of bats and balls to the bat dimensions, including weight, material, and color.
How Many Wiffle Bats and Balls Do You Need?
There are several Wiffle Ball sets to choose from, with one of the biggest differences being the number of bats and balls that are included. If you just want something for yourself, a single bat and 1-3 Wiffle balls will do. If you need to equip a team, or you’re buying for friends, you may want a larger set with 2-4 bats and lots of Wiffle balls, there are plenty of options for you!
Wiffle Ball Bat Length
In previous articles, we’ve talked about how to find the right-sized Wiffle Ball bat. Size is important when looking for a Wiffle bat. It needs to be the proper length. Most bats are a standard length, but if it’s for a young child, you’ll want to consider a shorter bat. The Official yellow Wiffle bat is 32″ in length, long enough to reach any pitch in the Wiffle Ball strike zone. A child’s bat length could range anywhere between 24″ and 30″.
Wiffle Bat Weight

How is a narrow barrel helpful?
Having a Wiffle bat with a narrow barrel is beneficial for a few reasons.
- Speed. Having a bat with a more narrow/slim barrel makes the bat more lightweight, which allows you to get more speed from the ball with a hit, giving you a higher chance at a home run! And who doesn’t love to watch the ball shoot far!
- Distance. Because of the narrow barrel giving you better speed when hitting the ball, you get a farther distance with the hit!

- Accuracy. If you’re practicing on your accuracy, a bat with a more narrow barrel is best. If you can get skilled at aiming for the ball with a more narrow bat, chances are you’ll be able to hit the ball with almost every swing.
For kids starting, of course, the narrow barrel may not be ideal. Sometimes it’s better, especially for younger kids starting to make it easier, so in that case, getting a Wiffle bat with a wider barrel might be best!
